Find information on Summer Driving, Biking and Walking Tours

Magnificent views of the Susquehanna River, dense woodlands, peaceful country roads, mountains, valleys, and pastoral fields proclaim the stunning beauty of the Susquehanna River Valley. 

Our highways and byways are ideal for a glorious summer drive, bicycle ride or leisurely stroll. Experience the wonder of the Susquehanna River Valley's natural beauty.

The Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area is an extensive, family-oriented off-road trail system located in Central Pennsylvania. Riders of ATV's, SxS, dirt bikes and full-size vehicles enjoy the diversity of the trail system on 8,000 acres of wooded land that provide many experiences to keep riders coming back for more. The Event Center near the parking area gives riders shelter to eat, as well as portable bathroom facilities. **Open for season, day and multiple day pass holders 9-6 Thursday to Monday. Fill out the online waiver for each rider before coming to the trailhead. Please read the rules and regulations on website prior to your trip.

Bald Eagle State Forest, named for the famous Native American, Chief Bald Eagle, includes 194,000 acres in Snyder, Union County, Centre, Mifflin and Clinton Counties. The forest spans across the high, sharp ridges of central Pennsylvania and features miles of pristine mountain streams and tracts of old growth forest. Bald Eagle offers unparalleled pleasing beauty and boundless recreational opportunities such as an extensive network of trails, awesome scenic vistas, flaming fall foliage and picturesque drives. **State forest roads, shared-use trails, and waters are open for public use. Please follow social distancing guidelines, and read over DCNR's guidance on recreation during this time. Campfire Restriction Lifted- Campfires are now permitted at all of our motorized campsites and State forest leased camps, provided that they are contained within a metal or stone fire ring, attended at all times, and completely extinguished before leaving. Bic's kayak/canoe rental provides transportation to designated drop-off locations on the Susquehanna so patrons can enjoy some relaxing time on the water. Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority (BVRA) offers events, classes, outdoor ice skating, outdoor recreation and other activities for the whole family at various locations including the Lewisburg Community Pool, Recreation Park, Summer Camp, Gymnastics Center and more. **BVRA's main office in the Greenspace Building is currently closed during the COVID-19 Pandemic. BVRA in coordination with the Lewisburg Borough has closed the local community park on the corner of St. Mary's Street and 15th Street. Please do not use the playground equipment, parks, pavilions, parking lots or walkways for any recreational activity. R. B. Winter State Park covers 695 acres. The focal point of the park is Halfway Lake which is filled by spring-fed mountain streams and contained by a hand-laid, native sandstone dam. Sunny Hill Golf Course is a family-run course that is open to the public year-round, weather permitting. The course sits on 30 acres that includes a 9-hole Par 3 executive course and driving range.
