Fall Events & Festivals in the Susquehanna River Valley, PA 

The Susquehanna River Valley offers a packed lineup of fall events from August through October. We’ve got fall festivals and farm markets that celebrate the harvest with tasty treats and family-friendly activities. Our fairs are known for their food, rides and entertainment, and our seasonal traditions celebrate popular autumn holidays like Halloween and cultural events, including Oktoberfest. 

Fall Festivals & Can’t-Miss Events 

The Susquehanna River Valley has its own way of predicting the seasons with the Woolly Worm! Each October, this furry forecaster makes his annual prediction at the Lewisburg Fall Festival, where the community flocks downtown for a day filled with fun, games and festivities.  

For a whole week filled with parades, races, concerts and arts and crafts vendors, head to the Milton Harvest Festival. The Selinsgrove Market Street Festival has things to do for all ages, including pony rides, local entertainment, games, artisan vendors and lots of delicious food. We’re also home to the Beaver Community Fair, a celebration that highlights agriculture, food and country living in Beaver Springs. This weeklong event features livestock shows, exhibits, tractor and truck pulls, midway rides, live entertainment, kids’ activities and plenty of fair food.  

At Mifflinburg’s Oktoberfest, enjoy a weekend of craft German beer, plus tasty food, games such as keg tossing and live entertainment. For a more kid-friendly seasonal celebration in Elysburg, Knoebels Hallo-Fun Weekends feature gently spooky rides, autumn activities, fall-themed foods and Halloween decorations. Some attractions also become haunted after dark for those seeking thrills.

Farm Stands, Markets & Seasonal Experiences 

If you’re looking for a place to grab some seasonal produce or want to add an easy autumn outing to your festival weekend, the region has several farms and markets that are open in the fall. Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm in Milton does more than just Christmas; stop by to pick pumpkins or go on a hayride. Have some family fun in the pumpkin patch at Banty Rooster at Ard’s Farm in Lewisburg, and then enjoy a farm-to-table meal in the restaurant or a treat at the Candy Co. Soda Bar. 

Head to Northhill Orchard in Winfield for you-pick-’em fun. Apples and pumpkins are in season for most of autumn, and if you time your visit right, you might also be able to pick peaches, pears or flowers. Green’s Fruit Farm in Elysburg grows 40 varieties of fruit, with you-pick fields and a farm store. If blooms are more your style, Blooming Meadows in Watsontown invites visitors to fill a bucket with flowers and create a one-of-a-kind arrangement. 

Solve the corn maze at Blue Sparrow Farm in Milton and don’t miss their Pumpkin and Sunflower Festival. For an easy, festive fall outing, check out the pumpkins and mums at Reiff’s Nursery & Greenhouses in Mifflinburg or Engle’s Farm and Greenhouses in Middleburg.
