Dale’s Ridge Trail
Located just outside Lewisburg on the Dale-Engle-Walker House property, Dale’s Ridge Trail is a two-mile loop featuring scenic views, geological features, wildflowers and birds. The trail rises 160 feet above Buffalo Creek, offering views across the Buffalo Valley.
The trail passes through a variety of habitats, including a creek floodplain with towering sycamores, a pond, open fields and mature hardwood forest. Along the way, hikers can see exposed limestone bedrock and other geological features that help tell the story of the region’s landscape.
The historic Dale-Engle-Walker House is located near the trailhead, and the property is protected in perpetuity by a conservation easement held by the Merrill W. Linn Land & Waterways Conservancy.
Dale’s Ridge Trail is open daily until dusk, except during antlered and antlerless deer hunting seasons. Groups of 15 or more should contact the Conservancy before visiting.
