The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania began in Luzerne County in 1974. Since that time services have been offered in Wyoming, Columbia, Monroe and Carbon Counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Annually, the program matches over 500 youth in a variety of services.

SHARE or Shared Housing and Resource Exchange provides an affordable housing option for Union, Snyder and Northumberland Counties. This is a flexible housing model for homeowners or renters needing additional income or support and home seekers needing housing. Matches between homeowners and home seekers are made based on interests, preferences and likes/dislikes. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to apply. SUN Prevent Excess Through Sterilization is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted dogs and cats in Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties through spay/neuter programs.
