PIAA Swimming & Diving Championships: Due to COVID-19, 2021 championships were relocated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg. 2022 dates TBD.

Go Shamokin Drive-Ins: Shamokin Open Portal from AOAA into Town - Off Road Vehicles are allowed to ride into downtown Shamokin. The City of Shamokin welcomes riders from the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) to ride into town for dining and shopping. Fridays through Sundays, 10am-3:30pm.

Little League World Series:

2021 Dates: While the 2020 World Series and Regional tournaments were canceled, the 2021 Little League Baseball® World Series is scheduled to be played August 19-29 with only 16 US teams. No international teams will play.

Little League is constantly monitoring the current state of the pandemic and taking a fluid approach to capacity limits, though it has been announced that attendance will be limited to family members and a limited number of individuals associated with the participating teams.

Covid -19 protocol for testing of unvaccinated players, coaches and managers will be mandatory.  All other staff, umpires, officials, etc. must provide proof of vaccination. If not vaccinated, they may be subject to additional screening measures.

Bucknell University recognizes that continued mitigation of COVID-19 is unpredictable. As we navigate this unprecedented public health crisis, our plans will be subject to change based on circumstances.  

Bucknell University Event & Academic Planning Calendars

  • Admitted Students Day: Saturday, April 24, 2021

  • Bucknell remains committed to celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2020. After reviewing state and local gathering restrictions and consulting with class leadership, we have decided to host an in-person celebration in 2022, when we hope to be able to safely bring the full class together in person. We will continue to work collaboratively with members of the class on celebration plans, including a live virtual event specifically for the Class of 2020 at this year's all-virtual Reunion, which takes place May 31–June 6.

  • Class of 2021 Commencement Weekend: May 21-23, 2021 (Commencement Sunday, May 23, 2021)

  • Reunion Weekend: Friday-Sunday, June 4 - 6, 2021
    Reunion 2021 will include a variety of entirely virtual experiences hat all members of your class can be a part of — regardless of where they are in the world. Look forward to engaging, fun and exciting opportunities to interact directly with classmates you may not have seen in many years or since graduation. There will be activities you can do on your own time to kick off the week on May 31 and one or two virtual event options each day June 1-6. Saturday will include afternoon options and evening live class gatherings.

  • Upper Class (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) Move-In: Friday, Aug. 20-22, 2021

  • Family Weekend: Friday - Sunday, September 17 - 19, 2021

Susquehanna University

  • Susquehanna will host graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 at three separate times: Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Sunday, May 16 at 10 a.m.

  • In-person Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020 are scheduled for Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  • New Student Move-In: Not available at this time.

  • Welcome Week: Orientation for New Students & Families: Online Edition!
    Following conversations about how to best welcome you to our community safely, we have made the decision to host Orientation for New Students & Families via a remote online format. This Online Orientation will provide you with all the information you would have received in person, and we are planning additional virtual events over the summer for you to ask questions to faculty, staff and current students. We’ll also connect you virtually with your O-Team Leader, so you can get to know them and each other!
