Whether you’re camping in a tent or glamping in an RV,
there is a perfect spot for you at
Susquehanna River Valley Campgrounds.
If you want to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Central PA, camping is both an exciting and a relaxing way to get outside. And whether you are a veteran camper or trying out a brand new tent there are options for you and your family or friends.
The most basic type of camping is, of course, tent camping. It involves heading to a park or campground, pitching a tent and sleeping outside for a few nights. Car camping is another great option that combines the basics of tenting with the ease of travel. Just pack up the car with gear you will need and find a spot in a campground or state park. Once you get to your chosen site pitch a tent or lay the seats flat and sleep in your car. All the things you need for your time away are kept in your car. Another popular option is RV Camping which combines the pleasures of getting outside and getting close to nature, along with accommodations that are more like home. For the more adventurous, backpacking is a great way to experience the best of the outdoors. Carry all your gear and equipment on your back, travel through nature, explore trails in more remote, wild areas and sleep in primitive sites away from other people. No matter where you plan to spend the night you will be closer to the great outdoors as well as the peace and fun found in nature.
Once you find your perfect spot, set up your campsite and then depending on the time of day head out and find an adventure or sit by a campfire and enjoy roasting some hot dogs and making s’mores. If there is still daylight the campgrounds and state parks in the Susquehanna River Valley offer many options for fun. Pack your bike, hiking boots, kayak or fishing pole to add adventure to your camping trip or enjoy the many amenities found right in the campground. Many campgrounds offer fishing, planned group activities, swimming pools and water parks, jumping pillows and specialty bikes or boats. Let’s take a tour of the campgrounds in and around the Valley and find the best spot for your next (or first adventure)!
