Visitors Bureau Launches Winter Version of Mobile App

The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau (SRVVB), which is the Tourism Promotion Agency for Snyder, Northumberland, and Union Counties, recently launched the winter version of their mobile app.

Called "Central PA Treasures" the mobile app is available in the Apple App Store and in the Android Market. The apps can also be downloaded by scanning a QR Code from the website. For non-Apple and Android users, the Visitors Bureau's website,, is also mobile-optimized, so it can be viewed easily on all mobile devices.

Since the app's launch in July, the app has been downloaded by more than 1,500 users across Pennsylvania and beyond, has been viewed more than 6,000 times by users, and has top ratings in both the Apple and Android marketplaces. The average time spent in the app is 19 minutes.

The app was designed by MoJo Active, an integrated marketing company in Watsontown.

The most recent update to the app, Version 1.2, allows users to view member listings based on what's "nearby" the smartphone user. Or, the listings can be viewed alphabetically. This gives users access to businesses that are closest to their current location, making it easy to find a quick bite to eat, a local park to take their dog, or a new store to peruse.

The app features every member of the Visitors Bureau, including upcoming events, area attractions, shopping, historical sites, food and lodging. Users can directly call a business of interest, and tap the "Favorite" button to save certain attractions or events to the phone, so they can be accessed even if the user's off-line.
