unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley

Do you want a spot in unPAVed 2022?

We are excited that this year's unPaved spots went so quickly. There is now a long waitlist for a coveted spot on the course. If you are one of those people or if you wanted to register, but snoozed too long, I am happy to tell you there is another option. We still have about 40 spots in the SlumberPArty category.

In my option, this is the most fun way to experience the course. You can cruise through the forest at a slower pace, saving time for pictures and two days of memories with your crew.

If I have piqued your interest, read more about this option below.

Join the unPAved 2022 SlumberPArty

The unPAved SlumberPArty has been expanded for 2022for those looking to maximize their smiles to miles ratio. This camping option will allow riders to split the Full 120 or Plenty 90 mile course over Saturday and Sunday with an overnight stay in Poe Paddy State Park. If you are a seasoned bikepacker you can load up your rig and roll, but if you would rather run fast and light your gear will be transported to Poe Paddy on Saturday and back to the DonePAved finish line on Sunday.

  • This more flexible way to enjoy the course will have a few differences in support:
    • You must be self-supported on Saturday to mile 44
    • You will not be timed
    • You will get supplies transported
    • You will get a breakfast prepared for you
    • You will get expert bike packing tips
    • You will get a bunch more really cool swag
  • You can complete the 120 (or 90) miles at any pace. A typical ride could look like this:
    • Saturday: Pick up packet and drop equipment 9 am -noon
    • 10 am-noon rollin on course
    • 2 pm arrive at Poe Paddy and set up your camp
    • 3 pm Ride the difference
    • 6 pm arrive at camp and enjoy, dinner, and friends
    • Sunday: 8 am breakfast and coffee
    • 9 am rollin toward the finish
    • 1 pm stop at the Rusty Rail Brewery for lunch and beers
    • 3 pm finish the last 10 miles to DonePAved and more beers and cheers

Some of the biggest smiles and most relaxed finishers last year were the overnighters. If you are looking for a new adventure check out the full details on the unPAved SlumberPArty page HERE.

Back Yard Beans

Like a lot of you, we here at unPAved HQ have a slightly unhealthy obsession with coffee and are stoked to have Back Yard Beans back in 2022 for a second year. Founders Matt and Laura Adams started roasting coffee in their backyard and have been slinging a mean cup of java at Back Yard Beans since 2017. As a SlumberPArty sponsor their caffeine elixirs will help fuel up riders on Sunday morning at Poe Paddy State Park.

Those of you who rode unPAved last year may remember the sample packs of Back Yard Beans in the rider swag bags. If you need another fix check out their online shop and grab a couple bags for your inner barista or swing by one of their cafes in Landsdale or Ambler if you're in the area.

For those of you not doing the SlumberPArty be sure to book your room.

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott right next to the Start/Finish were such fans of our gritty selves they've extended a special rate of $299–$319 per night (depending on the room) to participants. Book your group rate for unPAved 2022 Here!

There are a slew of great little places to stay in the region and the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau can help you find a great place.

October will be here before you know it and there's a lot of unPAvers!
