Bodybuilding 101


Ready to try weight training? It’s time to join Bodybuilding 101! This brand new small group training is headed by our new personal trainer Tiago Marques! Trainings run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 6 pm. Sessions include a beginner’s guide to hypertrophy with a 2-week intro plan and then a 4-week mass builder training program guided towards building increased knowledge on various exercises, form, technique, and becoming more accustomed to the bodybuilding style of training. The goal for this 6-week program is to achieve progressive overload whether it’s through increased resistance, rest times, tempo, or reps. Max of 8 participants so sign up today! Class begins July 7 and runs through August 15, 2022.
Functional Fitness

Stay active into retirement and keep doing the things you love! Functional Fitness incorporates integrated movement routines to increase strength, balance and flexibility. This low impact but intense workout aims to improve endurance and agility. One hour sessions with our personal trainer Janice will be tailored to meet client’s specific needs and abilities. Participants must be able to get up and down off of the floor and bear limited weight on knees and shoulders. Class meets Mondays and Wednesday from 11 AM - noon.
Pilates Fusion

Janice Leeser leads our newest addition designed to tone and sculpt while developing functional strength, body control, and body awareness. This low-impact class combines heightened mental focus with precise controlled movements. This fun but challenging workout will feature lots of variety while fusing mat Pilates with functional mobility. Max of 8 participants per class so act fast!
Cardio, Core & More

This low-impact, high intensity Small Group Training uses functional strength movements relevant to daily activities with focus on the core. We will incorporate cardio, balance with strength moves using hand weights, med balls, balance balls, suspension straps and steps, all while working the core and getting our heart rates up. Participants will need to be able to get down on the floor, bear weight on their knees and be able to do steps. Please contact Personal Trainer Janice Leeser for an assessment so that sessions can be tailored to your specific needs. Sessions run monthly and are open to the first 6 members to sign up. Sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 to 1 PM.

Welcome Olivia

The Lewisburg YMCA would like to welcome Olivia Conklin to the staff as a Personal Trainer. Olivia, originally from Montoursville, PA is a recent grad of Misericordia University with a Bachelor's in Health Science (Exercise Science). Growing up, she was a competitive dancer, and in college, she was Vice President of the Dance Team. She enjoys hiking, exercise, arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends. Olivia is looking forward to meeting all of the members and is excited to oversee the Styku, Parkinson's and Stage III Cardiac Rehab programs at the Lewisburg YMCA at the Miller Center. Phase III Cardiac Rehab

Recovering cardiac patients who have successfully completed Phase I and Phase II Cardiac Rebab programs can join us for Phase III Cardiac Rehab here at the Lewisburg YMCA. Olivia Conklin will be overseeing the program and is anxious to get you started! Email her today for an evaluation.

This class is for individuals who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Exercises within this class are geared towards maintaining skills and restoring function to increase overall quality of life. Some of the Parkinson’s symptoms that exercise can positively affect include mood, self-confidence, bone health, sleep, digestion and constipation, fatigue, gait, balance and functional mobility.
