Book in a Jar Contest

Herr Memorial Library

Stop by the Herr Memorial Library during the months of May and June and try to guess the title of the shredded book in a jar. A winner will be drawn at the end of each month and receive a gift card to a local restaurant!


Far Out Field Trips

Public Library for Union County

Last week, first graders from Kelly Elementary School toured the library and learned how it serves our community. They also participated in a special "Mars" story and craft time with Ms. Mary. Check out the creative Mars landing space crafts the students made (pictured above)!


Comic Day at West End

West End Library

Local comic book creator Chris Ring visited the library and signed copies of his new children's graphic novel Seamus the Famous: The Eternity Run. Also featured was a display of comic books from the 1940s to present day!

Artist Reception: Saturday, May 6 | 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm


Chris Ring, a local commercial illustrator and children’s book author shares the gallery space with his artist daughters Victoria Ring and Natalie Ring in an exhibit titled, “Time and Tide” – a family collection of paintings, illustrations, and sculptures centered around an ocean theme.

H.E.R.Y.N. Registration is Open for 2023

February 8, 2023 to June 22, 2023

2023 HERYN (Helping Engage our River's Youth with Nature) youth kayaking and fishing program days are scheduled for June 22, 23, 24, 26, 27 and 28. These program days are for young people ages 9 to 14, introducing them to important skills in both kayaking and fishing, building confidence in these outdoor skills, and developing a vested interest in protecting our river's resources.
