The Union County Library System—The Public Library for Union County, Lewisburg; Herr Memorial Library; Mifflinburg; and West End Library, Laurelton—is hosting the following events in September 2020. All programs are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. Virtual Discover Storytime

September 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29   10:00 am – 10:30 am

Join Ms. Davena for a virtual storytime. Sing songs, read books, and learn some simple ASL signs centered around a different theme each week. Myths and Legends of the Sky

Thursday, September 24 – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Listen to stories told about the myths and legends of the Native Americans. Native American myths and legends tell the reason for day and night, why events happen in nature, the origin of the stars and other wonders of our night sky.  This is an outdoor event during twilight hours for ages 5-12. Social distancing will be implemented. Limited spots available. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172 or registering online.

Virtual ABC Play with Me

September 30, October 7, 14, 21 & 28 – 10:00 am – 10:30 am

Learn about a new "toy" each week, ways to play with it, what skills it builds, and more. The video will touch on developmental milestones/concerns. A link is provided to a local professional if the parent or caregiver has questions or concerns about their child's development in a particular area. Reading with Maverick

Saturday, September 26 – 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Children are welcome to read to our certified therapy dog, Maverick. One child will be allowed at a time. To sign up for a 15-minute time slot, call the library at 570-922-4773

September Craft of the Month

During Library Hours

Pick up September’s apple tree decoration craft and make it at home. All supplies for the craft are included.
