Elysian Fields Equestrian Center is thrilled to offer summer day camps for the youth of Lycoming County PA and surrounding counties! If you are looking for a day camp near you and your child is interested in learning everything about horses and getting the full experience of what it is like owning a horse, this exciting program is a dynamic mix of fun and learning and is conveniently located five miles North from Walmart in Montoursville, PA.

Our camp is available for all horse lovers of all abilities, beginning through advanced riders. Summer Day Camps begin Monday, June 13th and run every week, all summer long through Friday, September 2nd. Each week of day camp runs Monday through Friday with easy daily drop off as early as 7:00 AM and pick up as late as 6:00 PM to fit seamlessly into your day. Please let us know if you will be dropping off early or picking up late. Make the most of your child’s time off and register them for one of EFEC’s summer day camps!

The cost for full day camp is $400 for the week. Half Day Camps are also available for 5-7 year olds every week in the afternoons from 1pm - 5pm. They will graduate, get to ride in the show at 5pm on Friday and receive a certificate along with the full day campers. The cost for half day camp is $200 for the week. Please contact us to check availability and make reservations for half day campers as booking is only available online for full day campers.

The quickest and simplest way to see availability and to reserve a spot is to select the week you would like to reserve and leave $100 deposit online at https://bookeo.com/elysianfieldsec and then fill out the emergency contact waiver form at https://web.wherewolf.co.nz/3p2ys2. Please be sure to select ‘Day Camp’ and the correct start date on the waiver form as this will be used for our camp roster.

Each week is limited to 15 campers. We will have up to 3 full-time instructors and some part-time helpers, giving us the ability to break down into smaller groups of 5 for more personal attention and increased safety.

You may also schedule a personal visit for a tour and to discuss details. Deposits are fully refundable up until the Friday before your camp begins. Remaining balance is due by the morning of the first day of Camp and May be paid in person with cash or check.

EFEC's summer day camp program is specially themed and programmed for campers ages 6-17 (completed grades K to 11th) to match their energy and apply their creativity. Portions of the day will be spent in small group games and events, but other portions will sub-divide campers into even more targeted skill level and age-appropriate activities.

We're small and personal. Our family-like group is limited to 15 campers, creating a highly supervised camper to staff ratio.

Camp Activities and Schedule:
Get ready for a new adventure each day! Our day camp program runs from the moment your child is dropped off to the time you pick them up again, and both lessons and activities encompass the day-to-day equestrian lifestyle while instilling qualities of hard work, dedication and good horsemanship. Our ultimate goal is to teach each participant what it would be like to have a horse of their own.

Mornings include a short check in and welcome time, and then it’s off to their first activity period. At camp, your child will enjoy an entire day focused around horses. Boys and girls, 6 years and older of all ability levels will enjoy daily riding lessons; instruction in horse care and feeding; proper tack selection; basic veterinary skills and horse anatomy; driving lessons; games and crafts with horse themes and Much More!

Activities can take place indoors or outdoors, weather permitting. Your young equestrian will be instructed and given opportunity to perform ground work and ride in our 16,000 sq-ft indoor or 20,000 sq-ft outdoor arenas. Once confident the basics have been achieved, we hit the trails! Slow and steady at first on the beginner trails outlining the open areas and pasture fencing. The beautifully scenic 40-acre hilltop property of Elysian Fields Equestrian Center offers almost a guarantee we will see white tail deer and a fair chance at a glance at wild turkey from the trails.

More Info/What to bring:
While we do provide everything needed, some items are encouraged to be brought by your camper.

Spillproof water bottle - We provide water, gatorade and lemonade (No Soda). A spillproof container marked with your childs name or easily recognizable will be very helpful.

We do provide ASTM/SEI approved horseback riding Helmets for all riders. If your child has a bicycle or similar helmet that fits them well, they are welcome to bring it so they will have their own helmet.

Dress to temperature. We will be mostly indoors and weather is not a concern. Jeans/leggings are very appropriate. Shorts are okay the first couple of days as we will be riding bareback. By Wednesday, we will be riding with saddles so longer pants will be more appropriate. Boots are recommended but not necessary. Please no 'rubber duckies' as they do not provide the foot protection needed in the rare case of getting stepped on. Rubber duckies are fine for mucking stalls in the mornings if they have something to change into after. Sneakers are fine. Absolutely no open toe shoes, sandals or crocks.
