Finding a Unicorn
Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:15 and 11:15 am
It’s magical, simply one-of-a-kind, AND super easy to create- a paper plate unicorn that sparkles all year long. Program recommended for children 5 and up and included with general admission or membership. Sponsored by the Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund. To accommodate capacity restrictions, two program session times will be available: 10:15 am-10:45 am or 11:15 to 11:45 am. Sign ups will be available day of the program at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.


Toddler Time
Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:30 am
Toddler Time is an interactive program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver. Toddler Time includes a story, sing-a-long, and/or hands-on learning activities. Program is included with general admission or membership. Sponsored by Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund. Sign ups will be available day of the program at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.


Wind Chime Melodies
Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:15 and 11:15 am
Upcycle some tin cans with paint and decorations to make a beautiful musical adornment perfect for any place with a little breeze. Program recommended for children 5 and up and included with general admission or membership. Sponsored by the Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund. Be a Pirate Day

Yer invited for some Pirate Day fun! Explore the museum for some buried treasure and pirate themed activities. Create yer own treasure chest to take it home with ye. Program recommended for children 5 and up and included with general admission or membership. Sponsored by the Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund. When you grow up, what do you want to be? A teacher, doctor, or a scientist? Create your future self and show us who you want to be. Program recommended for children 5 and up and included with general admission or membership. To accommodate capacity restrictions, two program session times will be available: 10:15 am-10:45 am or 11:15 to 11:45 am. Sign ups will be available day of the program at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.


Museum-at-Home: Future Me, A Virtual Career Fair
Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 12:00 pm
Test drive your future through this virtual career fair! Meet a teacher, scientist, policeman, and many others representing a wide variety of careers. Join us for a Facebook Live event where we will interview a few local professionals and give you time to ask some questions. Additional interviews will be uploaded to the LCM website for you to check out later. Complete a Career Day Resume and send it back to us for a chance at a random prize drawing. You will have until Sunday, September 27 at 5:00 pm to send back the completed Career Day Resume. Program is free and sponsored by Kluge Insurance Group and the Walmart Foundation.


Museum-at-Home: Munchkins & Pumpkins Spirit Week
Monday, October 26-Sunday November 1, 2020
Celebrate Halloween safely this year by getting into the spirit with the LCM. Join us for a fun-filled week of fall themed Museum-at-Home activities and crafts. Experience the wonder of puking pumpkins with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department’s annual Halloween Chemistry Show (virtual) on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 pm. Then, enjoy special crafts shared by our Education staff throughout the week. The week culminates with a Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Saturday, October 31. Pick up a free pumpkin from the LCM Pumpkin Patch (the LCM courtyard) starting Tuesday, October 27 while supplies last. Pumpkins provided by Dries Orchards. Take your pumpkin home and paint or carve it, take a picture of it, and send it to the LCM. We will share the photos so everyone can vote on their favorites. Prizes will be awarded to the winner in each category (3-5 year olds; 6-10 year olds; 10-16 year olds; 16 and up). Are you a kid at heart? You can participate too. To enter the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, there is a $5 registration fee. Registration required by Friday, October 30.


Virtual Halloween Chemistry Show
Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 6:00 pm
Experience the wonder of puking pumpkins with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department’s annual Halloween Chemistry Show (virtual). In partnership with the Bucknell University Chemistry Department and the Lewisburg Children’s Museum, families are invited to a Halloween Chemistry Show on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 pm that will ignite their curiosity through this simulcast streaming event. This program will be a part of a larger Museum-at-Home: Munchkins & Pumpkins Spirit Week event. Crafts, pumpkin carving contest, and prizes- stay tuned for more updates. Tune into the LCM Facebook Page to view event. This event is free, but donations are appreciated.

Special Update from the LCM

 

The Lewisburg Children’s Museum (LCM) will be temporarily adjusting our open hours beginning Wednesday, September 16. The Museum will be open for general admission visitors on Wednesdays 10 am to 12 pm and on Saturdays 10 am to 5 pm. Ticket reservations are required. The Museum will continue to offer classes and enrichment opportunities, as well as virtual special events.

LCM members and the public are asked to reserve their tickets online at http://www.lewisburgchildrensmuseum.org. Time slots will be available with staggered arrival times.

The LCM is a privately funded nonprofit organization and relies on the generosity of the community and revenue from daily visitors to operate.
