November 28, 2020

Downtown Shamokin

S.A.B.E.R. will be hosting Home for the Holidays Christmas Festival in Shamokin on Small Business Saturday, November 28th.

To kick off the day, two local dance studios will preform and then lead Santa to Bamse Coffee and Roasters, where he is scheduling appointments to meet with the children. There will also be food and craft vendors, along with a petting zoo, throughout Independence Street.

The day is also a kick off for two contests. There is a window decorating contests for businesses down town. Also, in our businesses, they will have Christmas trees where a monetary donation to SABER counts as votes. Winners will be announced the following weekend at the Christmas Tree lighting. This event will run 1pm-5pm. Followed by Light Up Lincoln.

Light Up Lincoln will start at the intersection of Lincoln and Market Sts. at 5 pm. We will make our way up Lincoln Street, learning more about our past, a stop at city hall to hear our Mayor speak about our present, and wind down Lincoln Street to understand how to get involved in our future. The finale will be lighting of the buildings at the end of our route.
