Listen live as your neighbors in Central Pennsylvania share true stories about floods & flooding. Audience members are welcome to sign up and share a 5-minute story without using notes. Or just come to listen! One by one, ten storytellers are chosen from the hat to tell their stories to the audience. At the end of the night, the audience votes on its favorite. Please note this event takes place completely on Zoom.

FLOOD STORIES Devastating storms that inundate entire towns. Building back when the waters recede. Torrents of information. Swells of emotion. Keeping your head above water. In all these ways, floods shape our lives. On the 8th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, join us online for an evening of stories about flooding.

INTERESTED IN TELLING YOUR STORY? There are two ways to tell your story: 1. SPEAK AT THE EVENT Sign up for a chance to tell a story at the digital event on October 29th at 8pm. Submit your name at and we'll put your name in the hat. 2. RECORD YOUR STORY FOR OUR DIGITAL ARCHIVE Want to record your story for a digital archive? Let us know at and we'll contact you to set up a time to hear your story.

STORYTELLING WORKSHOPS Want to practice your story before committing to speak at the event or record for the archive? Or would you like to talk through your memories in a safe and supportive space? Stories on Tap is offering 1-on-1 and group storytelling coaching through October during which you are invited to talk through your memories and stories related to flooding. We are able to do this work with a generous honorarium from Bucknell University as part of the Humanities Center's "Learning To Live With Floods" series. If you are interested in speaking to us, please contact us at
