Exchange Arts

“Dreams” open call

Show runs Monday, January 9th, through Friday, February 3rd

The visual arts make a wonderful medium for capturing the memories of dreams, which we often find elusive and hard to describe.  Several art movements have used dreams as a source of inspiration, including Symbolism, Romanticism, Surrealism, and some styles of Contemporary Art.  On display at The Exchange, artwork on the subject of dreams -- daydreams, aspirational dreams, nightmares, or other visions.  All media accepted, and as always from ALL artists of all ages and levels of experience.

Storytelling about Dreams

Join us at The Exchange at 7 p.m. on the last day of January for an evening of music and stories from our friends and neighbors about DREAMS -- your dreams, others' dreams; good dreams, bad dreams; visions, aspirations.

You too can share, through spoken word or song -- no prior experience necessary, but we would like to talk to you ahead of time about what you plan to present (and please, keep it no more than PG-13).  Please call or e-mail to sign up: 570-317-2596 or Exchange@ExchangeArts.org.

Limited audience seating in the Exchange Gallery available: If you can, please call or e-mail to make a reservation: 570-317-2596, Exchange@ExchangeArts.org.  Donations accepted at the door -- $10 suggested, anything accepted.

We will record the event for later upload to YouTube.

Samek Art Museum Downtown Gallery Exhibit: "Meet My Melanin"

Meet My Melanin is an evolving movement that highlights and honors Melanated individuals by allowing them space to practice reclaiming their full selves through individual sacred photo-story sessions.
