Tourism Marketing Coordinator

Location: Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau (SRVVB), Pennsylvania
Reports To: Membership & Community Engagement Director

Position Summary
The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau seeks a motivated and organized marketing strategist to support tourism promotion and regional awareness. This role focuses on coordinating campaigns, managing digital platforms, and creating compelling content that showcases the best of our region.

The Visitors Bureau serves Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties, community stakeholders, area event producers and partner businesses. Through promotion, planning and advocacy, the bureau supports small business growth, economic development and vibrant communities. Our collaborative team proudly works to sustain and celebrate the region in which we live, work and play! The Tourism Marketing Coordinator will be a vital part of this cohesive team.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing Coordination & Campaign Support (40%)

  • With Board of Directors, staff and external partners, develop and manage SRVVB’s annual marketing plan, aligning it with organizational goals and regional tourism trends.
  • Assist in executing SRVVB’s marketing initiatives and campaign calendar.
  • Coordinate advertising placements (print, digital, social, outdoor) and track deliverables.
  • Support vendor communications and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Update website content and work with Simpleview on SEO improvements.

Content Creation & Digital Management (40%)

  • Develop and schedule engaging social media content across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Write and edit blog posts, newsletters, and web copy to support tourism campaigns.
  • Capture or coordinate visual content, including photography and short-form video.
  • Monitor and report on engagement using Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics.

Community & Partner Engagement (20%)

  • Collaborate with members, community stakehoders and local businesses to promote the region
  • Support media visits and influencer outreach alongside staff.
  • Represent SRVVB in local and regional marketing-focused meetings, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of professional marketing or communications experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
  • Competency in analyzing marketing metrics and drawing insights to refine strategy.
  • Proficiency with design tools/software.
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with tourism, hospitality, or nonprofit marketing.
  • Experience using Simpleview or comparable CMS/CRM platforms.
  • Comfortable working behind the scenes and as part of a small, mission-driven team.
  • Experience with the Adobe suite of products

Compensation & Schedule

Full-time, on-site position; some evening or weekend event support may be required.
Salary range: $60K-$70K, based on experience.
