McKees Half Falls

Large rocks create scenic rapids on the otherwise languid Susquehanna River at McKees Half Falls along U.S. Routes 11 & 15, near Liverpool. A picnic area and rest stop encourage travelers to take in the view. A set of steps allows you to get a closer view of the shoreline and rapids making it an ideal photographic opportunity.

This unique rest area is featured on our Top 20 River Spots.

“This summer, I realized the bird activity at the fabridam. I've seen eagles, osprey, herons and other birds fishing the river. To me the fabridam is a photographic treasure.” – Steve, Shamokin, PA
