Bicycling

Central Pennsylvania is superb for bicycling, as the country roads are lightly traveled and drivers are used to sharing the roads with Amish buggies and bikes. The hills in our region are rolling and moderate. The terrain is not flat by anyone's definition but what would be the challenge in that? Find out more about trails in our state parks or other possible routes via TrailLink.

Don't have a bike of your own? No problem! Bicycles can be rented from Buffalo Valley Outfitters or Earl's Bicycle Store. Both are located along the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail, a perfect beginners trail that lets you explore our scenic countryside.

Local Bike Routes

Thanks to the hard work of an intern from Temple University, we have five redesigned bike maps to offer. They are also available in hardcopy form at our Visitor Center on 81 Hafer Road in Lewisburg.

The Mountain Bike Map of Central Pennsylvania's Bald Eagle State Forest shows 140 miles of peaceful forestry road and 97 miles of bikeable trail from easy to advanced.
