The Community Arts Center proudly presents its 25th Anniversary Season beginning July 1, 2018! Nearly one and half million guests have enjoyed events at the Community Arts Center since the spectacular re-opening in 1993, and millions more are on the way. Making sure that there is something for every taste and every age has become a Community Arts Center hallmark. As the CAC celebrates the 25th year expect a season full of nationally renowned talent, entertainment, variety and quality shows!

 

Over the years, the landmark theater has turned into a home not only to touring productions, but also to many community-based organizations such as Uptown Music Collective, Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra, Williamsport Community Concert Association, Repasz Band, Williamsport city Jazz orchestra, Lycoming College Music and theater Department performances, Collegetown Gallery and numerous local dance recitals. Tony Danza: Standards & Stories

September 27th  7:30PM

 

 

Accompanied by his talented four-piece band, Danza performs a selection of his favorite standards from the Great American Songbook; while interweaving stories about his life and personal connection to the music. Perhaps best known for his starring roles on two of television’s most cherished and long-running series, Taxi and Who’s The Boss, Tony Danza has also established himself as a song and dance man.

 

Scott Bradlee’s Post Modern Jukebox

October 25th  7:30PM


Scott Bradlee created Post Modern Jukebox (PMJ to its fans) in 2009 and it quickly amassed more than 740 million YouTube views and over 3 million subscribers! PMJ brings their retro-tuned remixes of contemporary and pop favorites to cities worldwide – traveling with a live band and group of amazing performers including singers, dancers, and their dynamic emcee to perform their latest hits and favorite classics before sold-out audiences. They have played to hundreds of sold-out houses around the world.

 

Artrageous!

November 1st  7:30PM

 

Experience the thrill of witnessing giant masterpieces being created before your eyes in mere moments and join the challenge to see if you can guess what is being created. Artrageous artists use bold colors with hands and brushes as the troupe’s vocalists, musicians and dancers inspire them as they race to complete the paintings before the last note. These special masterpieces will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the end of the show as a special fundraiser for the CAC!

 

 

Peter Cincotti

November 10th  7:30 PM

 

Hailed by the New York Times as “one of the most promising singer-pianists

of the next generation. His newest album, which he himself wrote, arranged and produced, entitled Long Way From Home is the product of “moving my pianos to a house on the Jersey Shore, building a recording studio, and spending the majority of the last two years alone at the control board,” he explains. Cincotti is a native new Yorker who first reached the top of the Billboard Charts with his self-titled debut, and whose albums have been produced by legends such as Phil Ramone and 14-time Grammy Award winner David Foster.



The Nutcracker

December 1st & 2nd  7:30 PM

 

Community Arts Center teams up with Saint John’s School of the Arts and Lycoming College’s Music Department to present this timeless classic where a Christmas toy comes to life to defeat the evil Mouse King! This will be the second year that this creative collaboration has introduced over 120 talented students to the appreciate audience for two performances. The performances includes a live orchestra and relives the magic of the Land of the Sweets and the Sugar Plum Fairy. The Nutcracker has been performed on the CAC stage for over four decades and has become a favorite family holiday tradition.

 

National Ballet Theatre of Odessa: Swan Lake

January 25th  7:30 PM

This full-scale production, set to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and based on Russian folklore and German legend, follows a heroic young prince as he works to free the beautiful swan maiden from an evil spell. The State Ballet Theatre of Russia presents 50 of Russia’s brightest young ballet stars who bring this romantic tale to glorious life.

Darlene Love

February 1st  7:30 PM

of rock and roll as Eric Clapton’s guitar or Bob Dylan’s lyrics.” Rolling Stone Magazine has proclaimed Darlene Love to be “one of the greatest singers of all time.” Her billboard hits include: He’s a Rebel; The Boy I’m Gonna Marry; Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home; and the classic Christmas Baby please Come Home. Through the years, Darlene Love continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her warm, gracious stage presence and superb performances. Since the early sixties, as part of Phil Spector’s wall of sound hit factory, this great lady has done it all...from major motion pictures to Broadway hits.

 

Cinderella

With its fresh new take on the beloved tale of a young woman who is transformed from a chambermaid into a princess, this hilarious and romantic Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA combines the story's classic elements – glass slippers, pumpkin, and a beautiful ball along with some surprising twists. More than just a pretty face with the right shoe size, this Cinderella is a contemporary figure living in a fairytale setting. This Broadway touring group is of the highest caliber of professional theater production and performance!

 

Love Letters

February 15th  7:30PM

 

Meredith Baxter (Jean) has been acting for 47 years; she’s also a writer, artist and mother of five, grandmother of three. She has starred in four series, including the long-running “Family Ties.” During his forty-year career actor Michael Gross, perhaps best known for his portrayal of father Steven Keaton on NBC’s award-winning Family Ties, has portrayed a remarkable range of characters. Love Letters follows the romantic friendship of Andrew and Melissa through 50 years’ worth of written correspondences. Though their relationship constantly changes, the pen pals remain each other’s most trusted confidantes. This simply staged production is full of difficult circumstances and moves the audience through an entire spectrum of human emotions.

 

Benise

March 22nd  7:30 PM

 
Armed with his Spanish guitar, Benise is backed by a stage full of musicians and elaborately choreographed dancers, handpicked by Benise from an international pool of talent. Flamenco dancers take center stage in a tribute to Old World Spain, while breathtaking couture fashions and innovative staging and choreography give Spanish dance a fresh and luminous makeover.

 

Craig Karges

April 26th 7:30 PM

 

Craig Karges combines the art of magic with the science of psychology and the power of intuition to create the impression that nothing is impossible. Tables float, minds are read, metal bends and your imagination is challenged because you won’t believe your eyes!


Time for Three

May 7th  7:30 PM


The groundbreaking Time for Three transcends traditional classification, with elements of classical, country western, gypsy and jazz idioms forming a blend all its own. To date, the group has performed hundreds of engagements to sold out audiences, including Carnegie hall, Kennedy Center, Boston Pops, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and was featured on the Emmy-winning PBS show “Time for Three in concert”. This high-energy performance is for all ages!
