The NCCAH is established to enhance the quality of life, economic development, and tourism in Northumberland and surrounding counties through promotion of the arts for all age groups by offering cultural and educational programs and exhibits.

2019 Happenings in Shamokin

February 15-16
The Last Five Years

A musical deconstruction of a love affair and a marriage that takes place over a 5-year period.
Performance by The Northumberland Theatre League

May 8
Night of Broadway

Back by popular demand, local high schools will perform numbers from their spring musicals.

May 24
Patriotic Extravaganza

Symphonic Band performance of patriotic favorites. The
Anthracite Symphonic Band is made up of over 30 local musicians ranging in age from 18 to 80 years old and will perform concerts throughout the year.

May 25
Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts

Market Street, Shamokin

Saturday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, vendors line Market Street offering over 100 vendors, historical tours, children's activities, educational exhibits, and ethnic food for a family fun-filled day in Shamokin.

The Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts was created to bring quality and diverse artistic styles, educational exhibits and entertainment to the region to promote the heritage of our communities and community pride.

A hilarious musical you don’t want to miss performed by The Northumberland Theatre League.


Fine Arts Gallery Exhibits
(located at 2 East Arch Street, lower level, enter at the handicap entrance)

Each month the Northumberland County Council for the Arts Fine Arts Gallery displays exhibits by local artists.
An opening reception with refreshments and artist “meet and greets” will be held from 6:30-8:30pm on the day the exhibit opens to the public. The Fine Arts Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm to view the current exhibit.
