Susquehanna University Kids’ Summer Camp
Kids will learn to think critically, work together and solve problems creatively—without even knowing it. They'll have a blast with our dynamic, hands-on activities.

Looking for a summer activity for your school age kids?

Led by enthusiastic, experienced staff, our Kids' College camps and workshops are perfect for curious, motivated learners. They're held on Susquehanna's campus, a safe and secure learning environment with access to college-level resources.

Registration will begin in April.

We've gotten rave reviews from previous participants.

"I loved that the kids were able to think creatively without even realizing it and have fun in the process," another parent said about the Kids' Summer Camp.

"If you love to write, this is the place for you!" a student said of our Junior Writers' Workshop.

2018 Dates

Kids' Summer Camp
July 16-20 (students who have completed grades 2-5)

Kids will learn to think critically, work together and solve problems creatively—without even knowing it. They'll have a blast with our dynamic, hands-on activities.

This camp is designed to keep our campers thinking and moving!

Junior Writers' Workshops
July 23 - 27 (students who have completed grades 6-8)

Write-On: Exploring Genres
We are delighted to offer the addition of an optional afternoon session to writers who have completed grades 6 through 8. Grow your talents as a writer by exploring a variety of writing genres in more depth. Investigations will include flash fiction, mystery, action adventure, and more! Following a similar format as our morning workshop, you and your mentor will select a piece from your week’s portfolio to polish and then share with the group for feedback. Join us for more fun as we write on into the afternoon!

July 30 - Aug. 3 (students who have completed grades 3-5)

Does your child love to write?

The Junior Writers' Workshop will immerse them in the writing process. They'll use age-appropriate computer illustration and word-processing programs to create an original story.
They'll learn about content/ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency and the basic conventions of writing through individual and small-group instruction by trained instructors and Susquehanna creative writing majors.
We'll nurture your child to grow and improve, encouraging confidence and communication skills in an engaging environment.

Experience with computers and familiarity with word processing is recommended.
