Discover
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Discover is a preschool story time for children up to age 5 along with a parent or grandparent. This program has a weekly theme with read-aloud stories, age-appropriate activities and crafts, musical instruments and songs. Adults will be offered a take-home paper with theme-related crafts, rhymes, snacks, and suggested "getting ready for kindergarten" activities. Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.


Building Blocks Party
Thursday, April 20 – 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The conference room is open for pre-school through school age children to come and have free time to build with any of the block sets. For the younger children we have a large variety of block sets to play with and for the older children we have Legos, K’Nex and other sets. Younger children must be accompanied by a parent. No registration required. This program will be held on the third Thursday of every month.

West End Homeschoolers
Friday, May 5 – 1:00 pm
Anyone currently homeschooling or interested in gaining more information on getting started are invited to join this group which meets the first Friday of each month to share ideas and materials. Participants are encouraged to attend as their schedules permit. Bring the kids along to read a book, use the library or meet with friends. Joining this group does not require you to attend every month.

Paint a Flower Pot
Starting Saturday, May 20 – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Program Runs May 20 – May 26
Like to plant flowers and watch them grow? During the week of May 20 to 26 visit the library and paint a flower pot. You will leave your flower pot at the library to dry and then return the next week to put a plant in your flower pot and plant a flower in the library garden! (Weather permitting of course!) This program is for school age children from pre-school through high school. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.

Plant a Flower in a Flower Pot
Starting Saturday, May 27 – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Program Runs May 27 – June 2
School age children can return to the library to plant a flower in the pot that they painted the previous week and then take them home. Also they can plant a flower in the library garden! It is fun to plant flowers and watch them grow. This program is open to school age children from pre-school to high school. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
