Just for Kids

Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Discover is a preschool story time for children up to age 5 along with a parent or grandparent. This program has a weekly theme with read-aloud stories, age-appropriate activities and crafts, musical instruments and songs. Adults will be offered a take-home paper with theme-related crafts, rhymes, snacks, and suggested "getting ready for kindergarten" activities. Pumpkin Craft
Held throughout the month of October
Visit during regular business hours
During the month of October school age children can come to the library to decorate a pumpkin with supplies provided by the library such as glitter, beads and yarn. Children can either decorate one of the miniature pumpkins provided by the library or they can bring in a larger pumpkin of their own to decorate. We will not be carving pumpkins during this program. No registration required.

Child Online Safety
Friday, October 20 – 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Ann Dzwonchyk Community Health and Wellness Educator with Evangelical Hospital, teaches parents and school age children how to stay safe while using the internet. This includes the type of websites to avoid, not giving out personal information, and cyber bullying. Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.

Thanksgiving Craft
Starting Thursday, November 2 – 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Ongoing Program throughout the Month of November
The ongoing craft for November is a turkey magnet! Children are welcome to come to the library during regular library hours to make a magnet. The magnets are quite colorful and make a nice Thanksgiving decoration. No registration required.

Beginner Crochet Class
Saturday, November 18 – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
If you would like to learn to crochet there will be a class for beginners on Saturday, November 18 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the West End Library. Please bring your own size 7, 8, or 9 crochet hook. We have a good supply of yarn available at the library. If you want to bring your own yarn, please make sure it is 4 ply knitting worsted in a solid color. Greeting Card Gift Box Class
Monday, November 27 – 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Do you save greeting cards that are too pretty to throw away and would like to find another use for them? Come to the West End Library on Monday, November 27 and learn how to make them into gift boxes for holding jewelry or other small gift items. We have a large quantity of cards available at the library or you can bring some of your own. This is a great way to wrap small Christmas gifts and a good way to recycle cards. No registration required.
