Paint a Flower Pot
Starting Saturday, May 20 – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Program Runs May 20 – May 26
Like to plant flowers and watch them grow? During the week of May 20 to 26 visit the library and paint a flower pot. You will leave your flower pot at the library to dry and then return the next week to put a plant in your flower pot and plant a flower in the library garden! (Weather permitting of course!) This program is for school age children from pre-school through high school. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.

Plant a Flower in a Flower Pot
Starting Saturday, May 27 – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Program Runs May 27 – June 2
School age children can return to the library to plant a flower in the pot that they painted the previous week and then take them home. Also they can plant a flower in the library garden! It is fun to plant flowers and watch them grow. This program is open to school age children from pre-school to high school. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.

Discover
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Discover is a preschool story time for children up to age 5 along with a parent or grandparent. This program has a weekly theme with read-aloud stories, age-appropriate activities and crafts, musical instruments and songs. Adults will be offered a take-home paper with theme-related crafts, rhymes, snacks, and suggested "getting ready for kindergarten" activities. Building Block Parties
Thursday, June 1 – 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Meets every Thursday until July 27
Children from pre-school to school age are invited to come to play with the variety of block building sets. Block play is shown to help children develop many life skills and helps them to learn to think critically and creatively! For young readers, the library has books about building, tools and more. The blocks were provided by The Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

West End Homeschoolers
Friday, June 2 – 1:00 pm
Anyone currently homeschooling or interested in gaining more information on getting started are invited to join this group which meets the first Friday of each month to share ideas and materials. Participants are encouraged to attend as their schedules permit. Bring the kids along to read a book, use the library or meet with friends. Joining this group does not require you to attend every month.

Sun's Out Kids Out
Tuesday, June 6 – 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Summer is a great time for playing outside but it also brings some safety hazards. This program is geared to help children understand summer safety so they can focus on fun. Join us at Discover time for this special program. For all ages! Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.

Build a Better World – Legos Big and Small
Starting Saturday, June 10 – 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Ongoing program running June 10 – 16 during regular library hours
Drop in to the library during the week of June 10 through the 16th and build with the Lego blocks. We have the large Lego blocks for younger children and the regular blocks for older kids. No registration required.

Germ City
Tuesday, June 13 – 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Children learn to identify where germs originate as well as the proper technique of hand washing. Join us at Discover time for this special program. Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.

Scavenger Hunt
Starting Saturday, June 17 – 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Ongoing program running June 17 to June 23 during regular library hours
Do you like to search for hidden things and solve problems? Participate in a scavenger hunt! Pick up a clue at the circulation desk and then search around in the library to find the answer to your clue. This is an activity for pre-school through school age children. No registration required.

Cooking Demonstration
Monday, June 26 – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
