Baby Discover
Fridays, 11:00 am

Stories, nursery rhymes and finger plays for babies up to one year old and their parents or caregivers. Young toddlers are also welcomed. Held every Friday of the month. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Toddler Discover
Tuesdays & Wednesday, 9:30 am

This weekly story time is for children one to two years-old and their parents or caregivers and includes stories, flannel boards and activities. Sign language is included in some sessions. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Preschool Discover
Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 10:00 am

This weekly story time is for children 3 to 5 years old and their parents or caregivers and includes stories, flannel boards and activities along with a craft. Registration is required so that enough materials are provided. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Maker Madness
Tuesday, January 2 – 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Need something to do on the day off? Looking for a homeschool extension? Visit the library to get your make on. The children are making snowball launchers and testing how far they can propel Styrofoam snowballs. There’s no set agenda just come have fun! For children ages 7-12. What’s the Big Idea?
Thursday, January 4 – 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

A monthly STEM program uses stories to focus on science and math skills for pre-K and kindergarten children and their families. This month's theme is "Building and Construction." Registration is requested so that enough materials are provided but walk-ins are welcomed. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Read, Build, Play!
Monday, January 8 – 10:00  am – 11:00 am

Children 5 and under are invited to try some hands-on, minds-on Lego Duplo fun. Children experience a themed story followed by a time to build and bring the story to life. This program aims to highlight the importance of play and its connection to early literacy development. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Lego Night
Thursday, January 11 – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Whether you're a great Lego builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! Work on your own creation or build together as a team. The library provides the Legos, while the kids provide the imagination. All materials must stay at the library, so bring a camera to capture your creations, which are displayed in the library until the next Lego night. Lego club meets the 2nd Thursday of every month. Super Simple Science
Thursday, January 18 – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

The six-session series features simple science projects for children in grades K-3. This month's theme is "The Elements." This program occurs on the third Thursday of the month. Registration is requested so that enough materials are provided but walk-ins are welcomed. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.

Play Days
Friday, January 19, Saturday, January 20 & Monday, January 29 – 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

Take a break from the weather and visit the library to play with our toys. The play equipment from the "ABC Play With Me" program are out for children. There is no set agenda. Crazy 8s Math Club
Thursday, January 25 – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Crazy 8s, for children in 3rd through 5th grade, is a collection of math activities that gets kids to think of math as play. Register to attend by calling 570-523-1172, visiting the library or registering online.
