Area Halloween Parades & Trick or Treat Nights


BOO!burg:  Friday, October 26, 5:00-8:00pm
Bloomsburg will transform into “BOO!burg” as a group of organizations invites families for the Halloween festivities: AGAPE, the Bloomsburg YMCA, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, The Bloomsburg Children’s Museum, Bloomsburg Public Library, and The Exchange.

Activities will include trunk-or-treat; pumpkin painting; marshmallow roasting; costume contest for ages 0-12, with prizes from Brennan’s Big Chill; family crafts and activities, including trick-or-treating in the Children's Museum gift shop; face-painting and scary stage make-up with BTE; and the ever popular pumpkin drop!
Trick-or-treating throughout Bloomsburg's residential districts will happen on Wednesday, the 31st.

Trunk N’ Treat Event: Sunday, October 28, 6-7:30pm
Fun family event held in The Lighthouse, next to Lightstreet United Methodist Church.  Kids and adults are encouraged to come in costume. Treats, games and fun for all. This is an annual neighborhood celebration for families.

Moves west on Market Street. All participants are to meet at the Middle School at 5:30pm

Jack-o-Lantern Contest: Thursday, October 22, 6:30 pm

Bring your Halloween creativity and your carved pumpkin to the jack-o-lantern contest presented by Mayor Cooney and held at the Herr Memorial Library.
Judging begins at 7:30pm and prize ribbons are given for these categories: scariest, most creative, traditional, happiest and best jack-o-lantern from a home-grown pumpkin.  
There are three age groups: 9 and under, 10 through 17, and 18 and over.
There will also be crafts or younger children and refreshments.
Please do not bring candles or flames just battery lights only. Also enjoy a Halloween craft starting at 6:30pm.

Northumberland Parade: October 24, 4:00-7:00 PM
Parade forms at 6 pm at King Street Park then moves to 2nd St. to Orange St. then turn at 6th St. Parade will finish on Queen Street and Back to the park. ​

Northumberland Fall Festival: October 27, 4:00-7:00 PM

This is a fun family-friendly event with free crafts, free games and a costume contest! There will also be a scarecrow decorating contest! Food and beverages will also be available for purchase including hot caramel apple sundaes, homemade chili, hot dogs, apple cider and soda. Location: 2nd Street Community Center, 2nd & Orange Streets.

Parade: Tuesday, October 16, 7pm

Parade on Market St. Forming on North High Street. One of the area’s largest Halloween parades attracting more than 5,000 people each year with floats and costumes galore to spook and entertain! Raindate: Oct. 18.

Shamokin Parade and Costume Judging: Tuesday, October 23, 6:30pm.

Rain date October 24. Participation forms for the parade can be picked up at First National Bank or the Shamokin News-Item, or we can fax them to you. Just call 570-648-9500. All forms can be dropped off at the bank or the News Item, or can be faxed back to 570-644-0897.
Registration is at 5:30 pm, parade is at 6:30 pm.
Parade forms at Claude Kehler Park on Arch St., turns left onto Market St., turns right on Independence St. and ends at the Municipal parking lot at the end of town across from the library. Judging takes place before and during the parade, by bank staff and other sponsors.
