West End Readers
Monday, January 8 – 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm

The year 1984 has come and gone, but George Orwell's prophetic, nightmarish vision in 1949 of the world we were becoming is timelier than ever. 1984 is still the great modern classic of "negative utopia" and the book club selection for January. Register to attend by calling 570-922-4773, visiting the library or registering online.

One Man's Ways
Thursday, January 18 – 6:30 – 7:45 pm

Are you nearing retirement, and wondering how to spend your newly found free time? Join Ron Keefer for an evening of interesting conversation about: my retirement story, some experiences of my aging and adopting to change, activities I engage in to remain relevant, a typical daily schedule, and self-nurturing credos that I live by. There is time for questions and Ron has a lot of good tips and knowledge of local places to go, activities to engage in, volunteer opportunities and more. Snacks and refreshments provided. Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.

Social Games: Cards & Chess
Friday, January 19 – 1:00 pm

Enjoy a fun afternoon filled with card games and chess. Bring your lunch and play with other adults. This is a regular program held on the third Friday of the month. Register to attend by visiting the library, calling 570-922-4773 or registering online.
