PR & Marketing Coordinator Position

As the PR/Marketing Coordinator, you are responsible for supporting successful and strategic Public Relations and Marketing campaigns through print, digital and broadcast platforms. Under supervision, you will ensure brand messaging is consistent, timely, and relevant to support goals and reach target audiences. In partnership with the Marketing Director, you will develop and execute strategies that are intended to create and uphold a positive public image for the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau (SRVVB). The PR/Marketing Coordinator will foster relationships with various members of the media, target businesses, partner organizations, and the public to execute successful communications on behalf of SRVVB. You will work directly on planning and execution for public relations campaigns and, in partnership with the Marketing Director, serve as a day-to-day lead on projects to define PR and Marketing objectives and goals, communicate ongoing strategy and progress, and provide consistent PR and Marketing expertise as campaigns evolve.

  • Support PR initiatives in a timely and consistent manner to ensure work aligns with the strategy and timelines
  • Design marketing assets including: brochures, promotional material, guides, and more
  • Assist in management and execution of social media campaigns
  • Develop strong media relationships and continuously uncover new contacts to the benefit of SRVVB and its members
  • Advocate on behalf of our member’s and SRVVB’s brands with external stakeholders and the media across all communications channels and vehicles
  • Drive media relations to establish consistent coverage reflective of key messaging in local, regional, national and trade publications
  • Deliver content such as press releases, PR plans, pitches, etc. in a timely manner consistent with SRVVB branding, AP style, and specified expectations
  • Participate in meetings regularly to highlight progress on strategy and ensure satisfaction with PR and Marketing reports/deliverables/ROI

PR & Marketing Coordinator Qualifications:

  • PR/Marketing/Communications degree/background preferred
  • 1-4 years relevant experience
  • Experience in the tourism industry a plus
  • Proficient and compelling writer with the ability to target content to applicable audiences
  • Demonstrated media relations success through consistent client coverage
  • Fantastic communication, people skills, and phone presentations
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Willingness to work in a fast-moving, dynamic and team-oriented environment
  • Comfortable with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe software
  • Confident in learning new platforms and software
  • Attention to detail with accuracy and consistency
  • Resourceful and proactive with the ability to troubleshoot and set priorities
